#1) Employment Specialist (Part-Time)

We are seeking an Employment Specialist (Luzerne County) to assist individuals find and secure employment.   An Employment Specialist also provides job coaching assistance to individuals once they secure a position. This position will communicate and coordinate services with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), PA Career Link, County Human Service referrals, and other networking agencies.

Responsibilities include:
• Meet with individuals to identify strengths and abilities in order to pursue employment opportunities;
• Assist individuals build their resume and apply for jobs online and in person;
• Assist to transition individuals’ into their new job;
• Provide job coaching assistance to individuals with regards to job tasks and duties;
• Assist individuals to obtain transportation;
• Researches available positions online (via newspapers, indeed.com, Craigslist, Career Builder, Monster, career link, etc);
• Work with local businesses to identify their needs;
• Develop, market, and provide referrals to prospective businesses and employers;
• Networks with community groups (e.g., chamber groups); and
• Complete paperwork and reports.

Educational/Professional Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree Human Services or related field preferred;
• One year experience working in Vocational Rehabilitation;
• Effective communication and presentation skills, computer knowledge, strong documentation and organizational skills;
• Sales experience is helpful; and
• Must be willing to work flexible hours.

Must possess a Valid Driver’s License and provide evidence of auto insurance.
Child Abuse History and Criminal Record Check Clearances will be completed.

#2) Direct Service Worker (Part-Time)

We are seeking a Direct Service Worker (Luzerne County) to assist individuals with disabilities with their daily living tasks.

Responsibilities include:
• Follow an Individual Service Plan (ISP) and/or Person Centered Plan.
• Maintain Pennsylvania Medicaid Waiver compliance.
• Arrive to work time and remain with our individual during assigned shift.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours.
• Represent NEPA Inclusive while working in the Community

Minimum Qualifications:
• 18 years of age or older, High School Diploma and experience working with individuals with disabilities;
• Effective communication and computer knowledge;
• Strong documentation and organizational skills; and
• Must complete staff orientation.

PMHCA is looking for a Suicide Prevention Coordinator

The Pennsylvania Mental Health Consumers’ Association (PMHCA) is a statewide member organization providing information, referrals and supports to people who are receiving services or in recovery from a mental illness in Pennsylvania.

Contractor Title: Suicide Prevention Coordinator

Position Summary: Contract entails assisting the Coalition’s Board of Directors in meeting the obligations of its current contracts. Contract work will be for approximately 20 hours/week and will start as soon as possible and will end June 30, 2015.

Tasks will include:

  • Ensuring contracted work is completed
  • Managing awareness campaign – Drive Out Suicide
  • Coordinating training events
  • Updating the AOASPC website in collaboration with the Coalition’s webmaster
  • Coordinate awareness events such as professional sports venues, etc.
  • Managing the mailing list and sending emails to Coalition members
  • Responding to member requests for information
  • Posting regular updates and information on Facebook
  • Assisting in the merging of the Coalition with the PA Youth Suicide Prevention Initiative
  • Attending and supporting all Coalition committee meetings (via conference call)
  • Ensuring all deadlines for the Coalition’s contracts are met
  • Providing at least monthly reports of the status of all projects
  • Completing other duties as may arise

Travel across Pennsylvania will be required. Mileage and overnights will be reimbursed after prior-approval.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will possess a passion for suicide prevention, experience in managing multiple projects with varying deadlines, be comfortable using computers, familiar with Facebook and comfortable learning new software. Candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision in the performance of his/her responsibilities. The qualified candidate will also possess excellent organizational and planning skills. Candidate will have a proven history of building collaborative relationships in the community. Experience pertaining to suicide prevention services is preferred. Individual must be internally motivated and able to keep on task while working. Excellent public speaking and written communication skills, valid PA Driver’s License and access to transportation are also required. We are seeking a Deputy Director of Advocacy and Community Services (Incident Management Services) in Scranton. This position works closely with County Administrators and Providers of Developmental Disabilities Services to ensure that the health, safety, and rights of persons receiving mental health supports and services are respected.

Responsibilities: (pursuant to assignment)

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Incident Management Department;
  • Consult with stakeholders on Incident Management processes;
  • Conduct Incident Management training;
  • Develop reports and recommendations to County Administrators;
  • Check the Home and Community Services Information System (HCSIS) database;
  • Manage assigned staff; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Educational/Professional Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred but not required;
  • Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) Investigation Certification preferred;
